i am the chair of the citizen's advisory committee that works with the city administrator office, city administrator on these community benefit agreements and zen dusk was our first company that we worked with and they're actually in their second year of the cba but they were really easy to work with. they were very enthusiastic providing benefits to the neighborhood. they were very forth coming with any information we asked for and definitely a model for the other companies and in our conversations with the other companies we told them talk to zen dusk. they were amazing to work with, and i think for me what is unique about zen dusk is that there is a culture. you can tell there say culture in the company that desires to really integrate and be part of the community and provide benefits to the community, and it's not out of having to sign a cba, but it just really is evident to me it's part of the culture, their company, to want to provide the benefits to the neighborhood they're in, so i personally want to thank sen dusk. i hope any companies that come after them look at them as a mo

and the issue is how the city manages bed bugs. while campaigning was a key issue that came up throughout the district, even though it is an issue that affects the entire city. one of the first things i did as supervisor was to call a hearing on how the city works on the abatement of bed bugs and on march 28th we heard from over 100 residents, advocates and affordable housing developers about the impact that this has on people's lives. so, today i'm asking you to support this legislation which would address three main issues. one, the legislation requires the city provide clear and accessible information on how to properly abate bed bug infestation and the rules and responsibilities for tenants, landlords, and pest control operators. two, in doing our due diligence we looked at what other jurisdictions have done to address this issue and decided to include them in our legislation and have decided to include in our ledthtion asian a provision in new york city administrative code. this will require a property owner or property manage

parcels, parcels o and u will likely both require city resources from general city affordable housing sources. so, to see the amount of money being repaid dropping from 17 to 13.2 and now to $9.8 million is certainly a concern. i'm glad to note that the agreement is that if there should be more than $9.8 million left over the additional funds will go back to the mayor's office of housing. should the other projects, the additional improvements, van ness improvements cost more than is currently budgeted, does that mean the money comes from a firedable housing fund? is affordable housing the last priority for the use of funds that were in fact the low mod housing dollars in the first place? i'd ask the board to keep very careful watch on that. * the city is pushing, we're all working together towards the passage of proposition c because there has been a loss of affordable housing dollars throughout the city. i think this would be a very difficult time to say that we should be taking funds away from affordable housing uses. so, i'd ask the board to carefully monitor the ongoing progress o
